Pre-Payment Payment FAQ

Green Power is proud to partner with Paytm Canada. You can pre-pay your next month’s invoice using Visa or Mastercard.

Getting started with Paytm Canada is simple.

  1. Download the Paytm Canada app on your phone.
  2. Add your Visa or Mastercard as a payment method on your account.
  3. Figure out the best day to make your pre-payment by checking when your last billing notification email was received. Make your pre-payment for the next month at least 10 business days before this date. (Example: if your billing notification was received November 15, set your pre-payment to be sent no later than December 3).
  4. Again, referencing your last billing notification email, use the amount owing as an estimate to what your pre-payment amount should be for your next bill.
  1. Search for Green Power within Utilities.
  2. Enter your account number (also found on your billing notification email) and the amount you want to pre-pay on your next bill.
  3. Choose the date you would like your pre-payment submitted or “Set it and Forget it” by scheduling recurring pre-payments.
  4. Review your details and pay.
  5. Don’t want to download the app or sign up for a Paytm account but still want to pre-pay your Spot Power account using your credit card? No problem, pay securely online using VISA or Mastercard by clicking here. (maximum transaction amount accepted is $9999.99)
Does Paytm replace my current direct withdrawal payment method with Green Power?
No. Pre-authorized debit from a chequing account is our only method of payment.
When you use Paytm, you are making pre-payments on your Green Power account. Your next invoice will have an opening credit balance that will offset your new charges.
If the pre-payment amount on file is not sufficient to cover all charges on the current invoice, the difference will be debited from your bank account using the banking information provided during enrollment in accordance with the Payment Terms outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
What happens if I miss a pre-payment or do not pre-pay enough to cover my charges?
If the pre-payment amount on file is not sufficient to cover all charges on the current invoice, the difference will be debited from your bank account using the banking information provided during enrollment in accordance with the Payment Terms outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
Can I create automatic recurring pre-payments?
Yes. The “Set it & Forget it” feature allows you to schedule all of your bill pre-payments in advance by pre-selecting the date that you want to pay. Select the frequency of how often you want to pay that bill – once, monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.
